I specified the millennials meaning people anywhere from 18 to 34 according to google.

Maybe SMV isn't the right word as much as social status and just value are but I've noticed one key difference between low and high SMV people in my age group: social media presence.

It seems like whenever I meet a hot girl, she has thousands of followers on Instagram as well as thousands of friends on facebook. Every single selfie she puts up gets 500+ likes and a lot of compliments as well. The pics are selfies of her, some food, her vacation trips, and her with her friends.

Now I thought that this initially applied to girls but then I realized that it is really not that different for guys either. The guys I've met over the years who have a lot of girls to go out to events with, hot girls in their lives that want a piece of them, and are generally sought after by good looking girls have the same thing going for them. Social media accounts with a lot of "friends", a lot of followers, and a lot of likes on photos.

Generally, I noticed that the guys were good looking (no homo) but also well connected. I am slowly starting to find the truth of my age that it is so hard to stay off of social media and avoid it if you truly want to be perceived as having a high SMV. Of course, perception matters a lot when it comes to status because that alone determines your standing, status is how others view you. I've noticed that even the guys who aren't so big on social media generally do post a couple of pics every now and then, if they're good looking then those pics get a lot of likes.

That is really what social media has taught me, it's a contest of SMV where you can put yours to the best. The hot girls, Chads, and guys who know how to operate on the social game are all having accounts with a lot of followers and likes. Even some girls I've talked to have told me they search a guy's Instagram account to get an idea of the kind of life he is living. A guy whose Instagram account is loaded with him doing fun things with his friends, traveling to exotic places, and maybe a selfie in which he looks god is going to be perceived in a good way. She is going to show her friends how hot the guy is and how good of a catch he is as well, all of it translates to status which is by far the most important thing out there when it comes to getting hot girls.

"But it is so fake!"

I really do think that is blue pill thinking, in reality it's all about value and perception. Thinking you have a lot of true friends is like thinking unconditional love is a thing but the truth is, the game in general can be very "fake". It is all in how you are perceived which translates to girls wanting to be with you. So much status is about how you are perceived instead of how you see yourself, social media is a good litmus test for that.

I am not saying you guys go crazy with social media, just that a lot of you should keep in mind the power it has in this day and age in a lot of things, especially social life.
