Great post, Rollo. One thing, though; the part about household chores and sex. For years women have been saying that men should do more housework in order to get more sex, but the truth is that men who do more housework get less sex. As you said in your article, when men specifically do male-oriented household tasks they get more sex. But when they take on traditional female chores, they get less sex. The kicker is that in the marriages where men are having less sex but doing more housework, wives report higher levels of marital satisfaction. That leads us to two possible conclusions:

  1. Women care more about being looked after than having sex; or
  2. Women say one thing, but then will change their minds at the drop of a hat.

Of course, both have elements of truth. Ironically, many women divorce because they are unsatisfied with their married sex life.

Oh I understand, and if you read Choreplay you'll see I acknowledge that. The point I was making was the moving of the goalposts with regard to women sending the message to men that they can expect sex for services rendered.

Worth repeating:

Once again, The Cardinal Rule of Sexual Strategies:

For one sex’s sexual strategy to become realized, the other sex’s strategy must be compromised or abandoned entirely.

And again, the Roissy / Heartist Prime Directive of Feminism:

The goal of feminism is to remove all constraints on female sexuality while maximally restricting male sexuality

[–]Opioidus 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The goal of feminism is to remove all constraints on female sexuality while maximally restricting male sexuality.

And this is why feminism is a self defeating ideology. Trying to ''weed out'' beta males and undesirable mates while maximizing societal/economic power might sound like a win-win to most women, hence the success of feminism in our world, but there's a little catch here: Alpha males are made not born! By creating a culture where it's increasingly difficult for men to become men, less and less women will get what they worked so hard for.

Alpha males today are such a valuable commodity that a little game will take you very far. And why is this? Because little boys never get the chance to become these attractive men. The delusion that sexy men come out of their mommy's wombs looking all manly and dangerous is the prime directive in making women welcome measures to socially shit test men ''from birth'' to smoke out losers, not knowing that the very same measures are creating those losers they want to avoid.

Women are extremely angry and they have a right to be. Imagine the hard work they've done in the past 50 years trying to become like men, trying to deny their biology, trying to be something they thought will guarantee them Alpha attention and appreciation, only to find themselves fat, post-wall, and rejected by every single Alpha male in their lives.

That's pretty much it.

While I doubt that they're actively trying to shit-test men on a societal scale by setting up a hostile environment for them, the result is exactly as you say: By vilifying masculinity, all they got out of it are fewer "real men". And suddenly their daughters who have an oh-so-perfect life bemoan the lack of satisfying guys to complement it.

When a woman and man cooperate, I agree, it seems great, like both benefit. But understand that means she's putting aside hypergamy and he's committing to her.

Just because they're compromising their sexual strategies doesn't mean it's inherently bad.

[–]kinklianekoff 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It sticks if you don't adjust the strategies for the environment. Their optimal strategies leads to the other sex having to compromise.

These compromises obviously are dependent on environment, that would be the deciding factor of which sex must do the compromising.

In your example the compromise is the females want for gene quality(AF), while the male has a higher degree of freedom because the female is bound by provision(BB).

Great stuff. The point about adolescent social skill sets explains a whole lot about why a lot of college sweethearts blow up in the subsequent years after. That stunted development leads to absurdities like this and other 'blindsiding' relationship enders.

There's probably a ton of people in everyone's life (past a certain age) who fit this mold. They nailed down a partner early, could be successful at work or whatever, but when you see the interpersonal play between the couple, all you can think of is 'this is some teenage shit'.

[–]2Overkillengine 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Now had Spreadsheet properly set a relationship expectation to begin with that frequent and satisfying sex was going to be a component or the relationship is terminated (along with of course maintaining his attractiveness) he'd likely have avoided this situation.

If you don't properly set expectations, then don't be surprised when they are not met.

Rollo, you're stating that the guy was negotiating desire by trying to "reason" with her (i.e. presenting proof to her what a poor wife she is) - which would indeed have been an abysmal move on his part, if only because all it would do would be alienating his wife even further.

But what do you think of the assumption that he wasn't actually trying to pressure her to have sex, but simply had already moved on and only wanted the satisfaction of having lashed out because he didn't care anymore about burning bridges? (because that's one of the positions that has been discussed in this reddit)

And again, the Roissy / Heartist Prime Directive of Feminism:

The goal of feminism is to remove all constraints on female sexuality >while maximally restricting male sexuality

Modern feminism, which has become a cult demanding special treatment and demonizing masculine virtues.

Sorry but I was expecting more. There's no analysis, you're just repeating observations combined with some knowledge and offer no solution but to never get in the problem in the first place(like someone asking you what to do if they're drowning in the ocean and you say the solution is not going to the ocean...). Solid introduction though and really good presentation o th issue.

You're not qualified to call something criticism unless it offers suggestions for improvement (or rather you can, but it's of the cynical rather than the constructive kind), his opinion is closer to whining than it is criticism. Your comment is equally closer to ad hominem/whining than it is criticism.

[–]heavenly_hooligan1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It is criticism not whining, I actually say what I think could be improved in the article and where I think he could explain more.

[–]soulmatter 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

This was more a commentary on the social event itself, rather than an introduction for anything new. The pros practice the basics.

[–]heavenly_hooligan0 points 12 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

Well the title says case study, usually when you study a case you end up with conclusion and solutions not just a repetition of what you already know.

[–]soulmatter 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Maybe you read a different article. Or are you saying a free blog needs to adhere to a specific organization's definition of case study?

[–]heavenly_hooligan 0 points0 points0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Just because you're doing something for free doesn't mean you have permission to do whatever the fuck you feel like doing, if you're gonna present a case study then do so. If you're going to present a short article explaining the situation and some concepts then by all means do it but don't title it case study. As I said I was expecting more, the read was really interesting and I enjoyed it. And as rule of thumb for you buddy when you use a word or group of words the describe something is better to adhere to the general definition(no FUCKING clue where you're getting the organization part from).

[–]soulmatter 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't be entitled. If you want a case study of the event that adheres to your expectations then write your own.

[–]Senior Contributorexit_sandman 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I can't say you're wrong, but the issue at hand was that Rollo has already commented on very comparable problems in the past. You can't reinvent the wheel every time.

Read what I said retard, he's just repeating whatever he learned somewhere else without the analysis required for something to be called a case study. Whatever he said could have been said about any relationship going that way(which seems common). I'm not saying he should have published a peer reviewed paper holy fuck, but this seems rather interesting and there's a lot more to write about. Retard.
