I noticed an interesting example of dread while reading this post over in wicked_edge of all places.

In the thread, OP has recently taken up wet shaving and is waking up earlier than usual to shower and prep for his shave. Seems like a perfectly normal thing to do in the morning, right?

Wrong.

He inadvertently gives his SO a little touch of soft dread by making even the slightest unexpected change in his routine. The change causes her hamster wheel to briefly spin enough to conjure up ideas of "another woman."

From the post, it sounds as though she came to her senses rather quickly, realized her mistake, and then started offering to work overtime to support OP's new hobby.

Looking at this story through an RP lens just goes to show how incredibly powerful competition anxiety and dread can be, especially in an LTR scenario.
