I'm a big fan of this sub, here I have learned things that will eventually transform my life for the better.
That said, there are some things I often see here that are not correct. Bear in mind that being wrong is not always a bad thing; sometimes it is better. Results are what counts.
Also, some of the things I'll mention below are not core TRP tenants - but instead are part of the shared wisdom of TRP.
- AWALT. Since when is it a good idea to speak in absolute terms? All women are not the same, just as all men aren't the same. I will say that you'd be closer to the truth if you said All Normal Women Are Like That. Maybe its because I have been on the fringes of society; but there are a lot of non-standard people out there that simply do not fit any sort of gender-based generalization. I'd say that the higher the SMV of the individual involved, the more likely they will have normal emotional functioning; but obviously we all know exceptions to that.
Now if by AWALT we really mean, "Hey, you have no idea what your little snowflake is capable of." Then, that is a true statement and men should still be aware of what makes women tick.
- Fat people are fat simply due to poor self-control. Well, if you are into absolutes, then I guess it would be hard to argue that any and all weight problems are due to excessive consumption no matter what sort of medically issue may be in play; but skinny folks should not assume that their experiences are identical to those they look down on. We are finding out a lot more about this stuff in recent years, and the more we know the muddier the picture gets. In lieu of links, I'll say this: Any of you skinny in-shape guys; if I was able to slip a normal dose of any number of common antibiotics into your food on a daily basis, you'd get fat despite what you ate or how much exercise you get. It turns out that the bacteria in our gut is critical to the normal digestion of food. A normal course of antibiotics can change the course of a person's life if they don't know what is going on. Basically the various bacteria that breaks down nutrients can get nearly wiped out, and once that happens the body suffers from malabsorption syndrome. The person feels hungry all the time because the body is starving; eating more does not help. You'd be shocked at how common this is.
If you personally can stay thin without undue effort; can you really believe that you are superior in willpower to someone who is slightly overweight but eats very little and works their ass off? You're not, I assure you.
HoF wide receiver Michael Irvin has a quote I really liked (and I'm not a particular fan of his): "I like to measure men in distance travelled."
If you were born as the winner of a genetic lottery, you really will never have to expend the effort that someone less fortunate does just trying to be presentable.
As for all these dumbasses complaining about fat-shaming and wanting to ban it or whatever - they're wrong and they are idiots to boot. But the guys here who rant about it are wrong as well. Clearly this is a problem that our medical system has very little interest in dealing.
- TRP is not for all guys. You want to know a hidden reason why some of these proudly blue-pill fucks just won't listen? It's because they are scared. All this talk of being a leader is very scary to a guy who simply is incapable of leading or cannot consistently make good decisions. It's a lot of pressure on a weak guy - they usually hide their weakness with collaboration. It's similar to when people are afraid to get promoted. Guys with these sorts of problems will be the first to call someone who makes a quick decision "arrogant" or "rash".
They simply cannot believe that a good man can make good decisions without collaboration or ruminating over it. They'd rather believe that such a man is actually making bad decisions.
For many men, they will always need to be with a woman who can help with decisions. And yes, those women will respect their men less for it.
There's more, but I'll post those later on.
I'm not here to argue, and I'm not a bluepill operative coming in here to make trouble.
I also don't know that there is any downside to being wrong about the above items. It could be argued that a man should want to get to a place where he believes the ideas I'm disputing. It still wouldn't make him right, even if he was better off for it.
