Ever since I changed my lifestyle completely (used to be a fat beta bitch), I've noticed some things about the nature of addiction in modern western society:

We constantly look for things to help the "now"-- immediacy is the name of the game. Feeling hungry and want something tasty? Eat junk. Feeling peckish? Fuck your diet, calories and macros, grab some unhealthy shit from the pantry. Feeling horny? Lock the door and beat up the bishop while looking at pornography. Feeling sad because you're an overweight or scrawny sexless loser in his mid 20's? Get "muh antidepressants" to help you out.

People don't want to put in the work now to feel better later. If it weren't for work, we'd be bored out of our minds and overstimulated. Shit only starts to look tantalizing when you've worked hard for a little while; the truly successful are those who continue to work hard when society tells them to turn off (e.g. people who drink like fatasses on weekends, game all day, then cry when Mondays come around).

but every morning I feel that in 20 years this won't matter an besides I fucked up everything else in my life. what reason do I have to keep living? every morning as I drive to work I constantly look at transport trucks to see which is the biggest and best to kill my self with. but that probably won't happen :\
