If you want to deny shit sites ad-revenue from traffic, take a snapshot of it with archive.today - it works like redditlog, except it's not limited to a single site, or if you can remember it, the now defunct FURL.

This has the added benefit of preserving the page if it gets edited or taken down.

DoNotLink is just an intermediate step, so they'll still get the traffic but just won't know it came from Reddit.
