Many in the community, such as Heartiste or Roosh, are of the opinion that verbose texting can come across as try-hard, needy and beta. Others, like YaReally, tentatively agree, but counter that there are ways to effectively use verbose texting. (http://yareallyarchive.com/2013/5/#comment-heartiste-440730)
In my experience, I have found that verbose texting is a necessary evil, and possibly even essential to succesfully game chicks in one certain context:
When you haven't met each other in person before.
If I meet a girl through tinder or OkCupid, I've found that I can't achieve anything through sparse texting. My texting comes across as pretend-alpha, pretend-aloof, pretend-cocky comedy. It just doesn't hit.
But when I send walls of text in the form of stories, when I give elaborate answers instead of short ones, when I say more than necessary, I've found that this actually works on chicks from tinder or OkCupid.
My argument is this: verbose texting, over the course of multiple days, is necessary to arrange a date and be reasonably sure she will not flake, IF you have never met each other in person.
