What constitutes an 'alpha female'?

..does such a thing even exist?

I've been thinking about this because the way females group together is quite a bit different than the way males do.

Females just sort of flock around without any leadership really, and it seems like the ones who do exhibit any type of 'leadership' qualities are usually the unappealing ones who are master cockblockers. I have female colleagues who refer to these women as 'mama bears', basically they are usually dumpy women who keep their friends from hooking up with 'assholes' for 'their own good' but it's usually a result of jealousy. I witness this behavior time and time again. Are these women alpha females or are they the opposite?

In raw terms I associate the term 'alpha' from an evolutionary perspective; those who give traits that are most desirable for breeding and passing on their genes. These 'mama bear' cockblockers more often than not are last picking when it comes to a desirable mate; unattractive, domineering, and bitter.

So my question is 'do alpha females really exist?' If so it seems like the criteria is the complete opposite of what constitutes an 'alpha male'.

I'm fairly new to TheRedPill and if I'm being perfectly honest I don't really like the way 'alpha' is viewed here. It seems like this subreddit views alphas as some sort of 'elite' where as 'betas' are considered normal. From what I've read here it seems to me that the definition of alpha is the norm and that betas are the 'abnormal' byproduct of social engineering and propagated bullshit.

All things considered in my own opinion I see an 'alpha' female (in terms of an ideal female partner) as someone who is physically attractive (youthful face, nice body, long hair; all signs of a fertile female who can carry a child to term), very passive, and impressed by feats of competitiveness.

This is my first thread here on TheRedPill and I found some solace in this sub after frequenting the MRA subreddit. This sub is basically MRA without all the walking on eggshells. I feel like the MRA subreddit for the most part wishes to discard their innate male traits so that they too can play into victim culture and lower themselves to the dishonor of feminist double-speak, and that rubbed me the wrong way entirely.
