In very general terms, it’s just being self-centered. Solipsism is some philosophical theory that begins with the premise that only thing you can be sure actually exists is yourself.  Everything else in the universe might just be a figment of your imagination, or stimuli out there for you to react to.  Taken to the extreme, other people aren’t even people, just stimuli for you to experience.

Used in The Red Pill context, it’s more of a descriptor of a lack of empathy and the inability to see things from other viewpoints, which is unreasonably common to women, but also exists in men.

One example might be a particular interaction with my wife. She got really pissed off at me one time back when we were dating because I asked a female friend for some advice regarding our relationship. My wife-then-girlfriend came unhinged. I didn’t get it. I didn’t understand why there was some rule against asking women about that kind of stuff and figured maybe she was just embarrassed.

But here’s the real reason. When a woman asks a man for advice on a problem in her current relationship, what she’s really doing is sending that man a signal. She’s saying, “My relationship is possibly about to end. If you’re interested in me, now’s your chance to make a move.” By instead asking for advice, however, she has plausible deniability. She didn’t do anything wrong. She was even trying to save your relationship.

Now when some innocent, bumbling beta like I was back then asks a woman about that, it is completely impossible for his girlfriend to imagine that anybody else in the world could be different than she is. She just doesn’t have the capacity to truly put herself in another human being’s shoes. So even though I was really trying to please my woman more by getting advice from another woman, she came unhinged. Accused me of cheating. When I denied it fervently, she accused me of at least having an emotional affair. She demanded I never associated with my female friend again. Why? Because she assumed that the only possible reason anybody would ever ask a member of the opposite sex for relationship advice would be to probe the waters for the opportunity to branch-swing to a new relationship. She was incapable of imagining that anybody else who did that could have been doing it with different intentions than she would have.

Women tend to have the inability to understand that other people aren’t like them. If you do or say something innocent, but she “feels” bad, sad, angry, offended, etc., reality doesn’t matter. You meant whatever it is she feels. She’s the center of the universe.

Upvoted for the insight that relationship advice query = feeler signal at (possibly) end of relationship.

Would upvote again if I could, for the insight that women often think they are just soft men ( i.e. everyone thinks and acts and is generally constituted the way they are - and looks at the world the way they do. )

You have just given me a great idea for dread. Gonna tell the wife I asked a female work friend for advice.

Why stop there? I was thinking the best way to do this is to ask your wife's best friend for relationship advice. The only network faster than google fiber is a woman with juicy gossip.

Even better!! What should I ask her specifically?

Some women make me feel like anything I say can and will be used against me. They'll somehow convince themselves that something I said was about them when it really wasn't.

Your girl of 9 years cheats on you instead of breaking up with you first.

It's solipsism because to her, nothing exists outside of herself. It's all about her own feelings. She can't comprehend that she should break up first or the pain she's causing by being unfaithful.
