I have a theory about this. Neckbeards might be the most hated group on the internet. When anyone wants to insult a segment of men (everyone from us to male feminists get labeled neckbeards) when opponents want to dismiss them. Why is it such a strong point.

Neckbeards and nerds are both losers. You don't want to be truly either. The difference is nerds accept their lot, they are friendly, they are happy being beta orbiters and don't mind asymmetrical "friendships" with women. Neckbeards are essentially angry nerds. Many get stuck in that phase, but these are people sick of being nerds. They realize their second rung status, they see the alpha beta dynamic but instead of becoming alpha stay beta.

Women don't like to see a man change in status. Women like to be obedient. They like order. They only want natural alphas to have status. It's why as has been mentioned here that acting like mastery is not the result nature, not hard work is the only way to have women recognize it's legitimacy.
