I hear and I forget.
I see and I remember.
I do and I understand.
We are constantly drumming into our readers here to “read the sidebar”, “lurk more” and “read the fucking sidebar”. Whilst this is great advice for someone who has just found the place, it doesn’t take long before they plateau in their red pill (RP) journey and start asking, “What’s next?”.
Telling stories is a powerful tool in business, especially in training environments, to get your message across and enable people to learn. Exposing yourself to the stories of others and getting involved in those stories is a great way to learn what the RP truly is, and what it means to you.
It’s not always easy to implement RP-esque reactions to everyday scenarios simply because you have not faced particular situations or been given a particular shit test before. This is where the last line of the above quote comes into it.
Reading and replying to posts on askTRP may help other people, but it will likely help yourself more. After reading someone’s post you must consider carefully what you would do, what the RP would suggest you do and what sort of response this person’s particular situation would benefit from.
Getting hands on and articulating an answer allows you to crystallise your position on the matter at hand. When you are faced with a similar situation in the future, you have already done the mental work behind the decision you are required to make.
After responding, take note of the feedback the community gives your answer. If it is upvoted then know that you are probably on the right track; downvotes mean that you may need to consider your position on the topic.
A note for people who plan to ask for advice
Take each response with a pinch of salt; the person responding could be anyone and be having any type of a day that day. Many members are currently transitioning through the anger phase of swallowing the pill and you should not accept their negativity when it is not called for. The community of askTRP is positive, brutally honest and supportive.
