This post made me check my ex's facebook after like two years. She's doing great, even more beautiful than before. Looks more leaner, and now is performing surgeries, means she is successful.

She broke my heart, left me feel rejected and worthless and I was about to suicide but luckily found this subreddit.

You know what, I don't want her to be miserable to make myself feel better. She is a human being and followed her programming just like the rest of the specie do. It was my fault that I derived my worthiness from her, and expected her to complete me.

Improving yourself to be better than your ex is a good motivation for starters. It will help you cope with validation issues. But it's not a real mature way to look the world.

If you being OK is depended on the state of others than you are just not mature enough. You will have to perform mental gymnastics and hamstering in order to make yourself feel ok.

I've admittedly come a long way mentally in the year that I've been single. I went through something similar in my last relationship. I was blue pilled to the bone, and honestly loved that girl. She bled my dry emotionally, and once she was done, she dumped me while we were on vacation. It's been a long recovery process, but you're right, it does get better.

I was recently thinking of getting back with my ex, so I invited her over to talk. We fucked and were cuddling and I asked her how many people she has had sex with since we’ve broken up since September. When she told me she had sex with 3 people it was like my world was torn apart. I had to go spend the night with family because I didn’t want to be alone. I was having panic attacks and anxiety (which I never have) and had to take a Xanax. I feel better today, but I know if I ever get an ltr again it can’t be someone from this country where the hookup culture ruins good women

1) Never look at an ex instagram/facebook. The pictures there are massively selected towards increasing SMV. Girls literally go through thousands of pictures and select the best. Look at pictures of her friends, or a video, to get an actual idea about how they really look. This actually works for escorts too.

2) Unless the girl is in her 20's, she will never look better as time passes. Women get old, they don't improve, ever. We also get old, but our value is not so much in our looks, so we survive it better and unless you are in your 60s or get very fat, your looks usually improve.

3) If she looks bad while single, they would have look terrible if they were still in a LTR. I mean unfuckable. Women let got in a LTR.

Had kinda the same experience. Was involved with a girl in high school, and I was too much of a wimp to lead the relationship, so she ended things with me.

I knew her from church back then and really only see her on christmas, since I only go back to my hometown for that.
She has a worthless degree, is hard left (I'm right-leaning), and her new boyf is a mexican guy that wear his hat indoors at a christmas service.

So if she tolerates that kind of behavior, I've realized she doesn't meet my standards anyway and it did a lot to lift me out of a very long and drawn out depression.

Good reminder, it’s easy for those not going through hard times to forget what the despair might feel like at the start of change.

I think it’s ok to take at most a month for yourself and be sad, angry, hurt, and whatever else. It sucks but it’s what makes us human and we shouldn’t fight having feelings or try to turn them off to be more of a ‘man’.

After a month you need to realize things will get better, however slowly, and to start your self improvement.
