One of my pet peeves is this love affair modern entertainment idiots have with this asinine pop psych concept of "phases" being used as an excuse for poor decisions and behaviors.

There are certain things in life that are serious business. Things that once done, can't be undone. Paths that once you choose will forever change your life as you know it. Choices in these realms are not to be trifled with. Not to be taken at the whim of a "phase."

Yet that's precisely what this nonsense pop psych and mentality promotes by providing cover to bad choices and actions. Often causing irrevocable damage to your person, soul, life, or all of the above.

Every time some thot tells me about her "phase" excuse, I say it wasn't a phase that did those things. It was you. That level of responsibility is what I want to drill into my children. That your choices in life matter, and you are going to own them whether you like it or not.
