I'm kind of starting to date someone right now. I am waiting for him to disappoint me eventually, so I'm keen on vetting him further. So far, he's been quite on point with the FDS guidelines: he's the one that has proposed us going out, on the date we had he paid for the dinner, hasn't even made one sexual remark or insinuation, he's within my age range, has studied a very difficult degree and has his career on track and comes from the same upper class background as I do.
However, being put in the spot of even remotely having to entertain sexual activities of any class, even kissing, makes me extremely anxious. I've had one boyfriend in the past, and sometimes I enjoyed kissing, making out and sex, but other times it left feeling inadequate. Which I do not understand, because as a lover, he went above and beyond. He always tried to make me feel the most beautiful woman in the world, wasn't porn sick at all, always respected me and never pressured me to do anything and was extremely generous in bed.
It's almost as if I'm anxious that I'm not going to find anybody else as good in that aspect as my ex, and that I'm not going to enjoy kissing and sex. Or worse, that my new lover will find me lacking or too demanding. Sometimes I even wonder if I'm asexual, but then I remember that there are like 0.05% of men that I'm really attracted to.
I've been doing therapy for over a year now. I am autistic, so maybe what I'm experiencing it's normal for people on the spectrum. I'm perfectly happy on my own, so maybe I shouldn't even bother with dating, but the thing is that, on paper I really like this guy. Also, sometimes I really miss the intimacy, sex and plans I had with my ex. How do I control this anxiety I'm experiencing?
there doesn't seem to be anything here
