I watched as dear friend of mine was stalked and harassed by a psychopath ex for leaving him and moving on with her life. He harassed her through anonymous calls and texts, hacking into her social media and e-mail pretending to be her to others and a whole slew of other shit that is too traumatizing for her to go into detail even with me much later.

Women have historically had very limited means of protection/recourse for stalking. How many women were told by police they couldn't do anything until he murdered her? How many times has a restraining order actually given victims their sense of safety back? Technology has given abusers more ways to harm their victims under the cloak of anonymity.

I'd like to know what other women are doing to protect themselves because you never know when you are going to meet a complete piece of shit that feels entitled to you.
