Men who are abusive will often hold onto women as a status symbol, brag about you to make themselves seem more important, so this is not a good measure of value. Obviously it’s lovely to be regarded with esteem from a partner but it needs to come with other HV behaviors and consistency.

It could go either way. I wouldn't date a man with kids when I was dating. I didn't have any so I didn't want to be involved with someone else's, plus I just wanted someone who's free to see me whenever we have spare time, no hold ups on relationship progression etc.

A HVM will be proud to be with you, but it will be balanced. I would find it weird if he couldn't stop talking about me to people and became really obsessed. I'd be wary of men who love bomb, who just never stop saying how wonderful you are and want to be attached at the hip. I mean you want a man who was cool on his own, but he falls for you and loves his life even more with you in it. Not a man who lives only for you and wants you to save him and recreate his life for him. Sone men can be lovesick and desperate too.

As for saying he wants you to raise their kids.. depends on the context. If you're getting married in the near future and you have a close relationship to his kids and the relationship is really good, and he said he admires you and is so happy that you're taking on a type of parental role for his kids then that's one thing. But if the relationship is kind of newer or you're not close to his kids then I think it's concerning and he might be excited at the prospect of someone else doing the labour and thinking he's going to free up some of his time.

I think that is very sweet but if someone saying they’re proud of you and want you to raise the kids, that worries me that he wants you to raise his kids for him 😑
