Recently, I was told by my younger brother that he thinks I have become rather condescending, and that I talk down to people. Naturally, I consulted my bros (close group of 3 friends for over 10 years) and they immediately discounted what my brother had said. I would never take something like this seriously, but it is very important to me that I have good relationships with my immediate family.

I am beginning to wonder whether my brother's perception of me is a consequence of my improved frame. Back in high school, I was your typical BP, pussy, people-pleaser. My younger brother was always better at sports than me (and I think he always thought he was superior because of this), but that was something I had always accepted. Even though I was generally an insecure guy, I was pretty practical about my situation. When I went to college, I made a ton of friends, became a great communicator, and finally became a confident person. I had always been a handsome guy, but, until then, never had the personality to back it up.

Fast-forward to now. I've been out of undergrad for 2 years, and have been focusing on what I want to do with my life ever since. I have been excelling in law school, I have been going to the gym for close to 2 years now, and have made many personal improvements to my life. This has led to a strong frame, and a natural, easygoing confidence. I'm a genuinely happy person, and I like to think that I treat others well.

Younger brother is 23, just graduated college, and has never had a real job in his life. He's not a bad guy by any means, and I really think he's getting his life in order.

I simply want to check myself, and make sure that I am not being an asshole to him. When I asked for specific examples, he could only reply with generalities. Do you guys think that I really am an asshole, or do you think my brother is experiencing cognitive dissonance due to my improved frame? And have you had any similar experiences? Thanks.
