Alcohol affects everyone differently. I can’t scheme for shit when I’m stoned, maybe you’re the same with alc?

Alcohol is like online dating when it comes to women. It's thought of as easier and that "everybody's doin' it" but when you learn to do without it, your actual success rises. You gain more absolute control over the situation rather than being one of the passengers.

If something alters your state of mind and behaviour, you can either rely on that or learn to reach the same without the altering substance. Latter gives you complete control over benefitial effects, former make you dependant while experiencing negative effects as well.

Alcohol consumption needs to be calibrated to your response to it and the value it returns.

I know guys who just get sloppier, like you described. There are other guy who it helps because it's basically self-medicating their anxiety issues. This is the historic rule of alcohol as social lubricant.

I tend to get quiet and kind of menacing when I drink, so . . .

In general, the guys who benefit the most from it are the ones who should probably be looking at anti-anxiety meds or meditation programs.
