Yeah, here's the thing about STDs. There are certain groups of people that are more prone to STDs based on their habits. Gay black men are the group with the most STDs followed by gay men and followed by black women. Elder people are another group that is high risk for STDs. Also women are more prone to getting stds then men. This has to do with how the STDs are transmitted by sexual behavior. For example if you are a man you have a much higher chance getting an STD from performing anal sex rather than vaginal intercourse. Your chances of getting HIV from a woman who is HIV positive after unprotected vaginal intercourse is like 2% but 20% through anal.

When people throw out the stat of 1 in 5 people have herpes, it's sort of true but doesn't really mean that when you are standing in a group of 5 people that 1 of you probably has herpes.

For example there is a school of middle class white kids in South Carolina where there is a chlamydia outbreak that is throwing off the chlamydia statistics.

Herpes for most men has almost no symptoms, same goes for HPV. For women however it is a different story. Women can get cervical cancer from HPV. While HPV is considered an STD, you can get it from very little contact and maybe not even sexual contact. I could go on and on about this shit..

I had a horrible oneitis for a girl that was way too insane to be worthy of anything. Over two years of constant heartbreak, stress, and idiotic decision making. She has herpes on her vajayjay. Over a dozen of girls later (cured the oneitis with the vagina cure. Works like magic), disclosed it with most of them (according to doctor, as long as I never had the breakout, I have 0% chance of spreading) and never had any girl refuse me because of my dormant peepee blisters.

The point I'm making here, many of you probably have it. It is a special blood test you need to do to find antibodies, which are not showing on regular blood tests. You probably have it and have no idea you do. It spreads not only by sex, it is enough to shake someone's hand after they scratched their genitals during a lesion, or share a towel, or even sit on a toilet seat that somehow had someone with blisters touching it. If you are insecure in anyway (not OP, OP seems to be owning it like a stud), just remember that most likely many of your friends have it as it is more common than marvel fans.

Ex of mine has herpes. She told me before we were intimate and I found her being upfront about it admirable considering the stigma that surrounds it.

I did a lot of research on herpes and that squashed my fear of the disease. I’ve experienced a few cold sores years prior which qualifies me as a carrier although I’ve never gotten them tested.

She only had one outbreak during our two year relationship, and it was one tiny sore on her genitals that was gone in about a week.

(My understanding is oral and genitals herpes are two different sides of the same coin)

Ex and I broke up about 18 months ago. I haven’t had a cold sore in over 7 years. I typically don’t talk about it unless I’m explicitly asked.

Herpes is just another very treatable skin disease; with a very bad reputation because of ignorance.

Genital HSV1, which is most likely what you have if you caught it from a blowjob, is supposedly less harsh than genital HSV2 (traditionally called genital herpes).

But, because some people are more symptomatic than others, does your body simply handle herpes better or are you having a fairly easy time because it’s genital HSV1?

By the way, her being some “shy, nerdy girl” is irrelevant. Most people catch oral HSV1 in childhood because some clueless relative kissed them on the mouth when they had “just a cold sore.”

Some don’t realize cold sores are herpes or are simply in denial about it. And then it spreads.

yea i got herp type 1 on my dick in 2015 from throat fucking some roastie. I only had one outbreak and never had anything happen again. ive fucked plenty of girls raw since that time and nothing has every happened. I think herpes is a meme honestly (unless you have type 2 genitally). If you haven't had an outbreak in over a year, I wouldn't worry about it.
