If you’re strictly talking about the tribe at the gym... it’s good to network there imo. It’s good to network everywhere honestly.

Humans are fundamentally pack animals we are incredibly social beings... we need a tribe or multiple. Some people will disagree

As for males shit testing, it’s subconscious to find where you guys line up in the hierarchy. Some biologists call it posturing in the wild. Peacocking, same thing. It’s a dominance/hierarchy test. There are different ways to handle it but bottom line just hold frame, don’t really react. If you laugh something off it often shows them being as so low status compared to you it’s not worth your time. You have to actually be at that status there though

That'll give you the confidence & freedom to explore other social circles and build your network.

The male shit testing stems from insecurity a good majority of the time. Despite how big their muscles are, their egos are very tiny and fragile.

Look for the cool, confident, laid-back guys. Best type of people to surround yourself with. Find and establish mutual benefit for the relationship and you will thrive.
