This might be better for /r/mensrights but I'm more familiar with red pill and you guys seem to have some brains.

A good friend of mine has two children. His first child is with a woman who he hooked up with and his second is with his fiance he met a few years after.

He has visitation with his first son and pays $180 a week in child support. This guy works his ass off often working 72hrs a week in order to make a decent living and provide for his primary family (fiance and second son). They both work full time but due to bills, daycare and child support they still struggle despite pulling $3000 a month (which is more then enough to live in my area). I've never met a guy who could work like him, guys busts his ass.

I'll keep the details vague but due to his dedication he was promoted and given a raise which finally gave him and his fiance some breathing room so life wasn't such a struggle. Him and his girl were ecstatic, they could finally due things and save money.

This lasted about a month until his first kids mom got wind of his pay raise and is now taking him to court to up his child support.

Let me explain the situation with the baby mama. She lives with her mother, doesn't pay any bills (no electric, rent, nothing and works a job herself while also collecting food stamps). That $180 is more then enough to support that one child since her mom babysits for free. Essentially she is taking him to court to get more money because....well just because she can get it)

This past saturday I went over to try and cheer him up. Now usually I can get him in a better mood with some beers and jokes but he was to far down. He broke down and started crying.

"I can't believe this, two years busting my ass to get ahead and its just gonna be fucking taking away from me by that piece of shit"

"I don't know what I'm gonna do man, things weren't good between me and fiance and I thought we were finally good"

"I don't know man, I can't keep this up. I can't provide for my family at home like I want too and it just fucking sucks"

I asked him about finding a new job

"Look at me dude, look at my tats, look at me. Who the fuck is gonna hire me? This was the best I could get right now and I busted my ass to prove I was worth it, to take a chance, I got with the right people at work, everything!"

"I can tell shes (fiance) is unhappy and I cant fucking change it, she going back to school and it gonna be on me with her hours reduced"

I'll wrap it up but essentially that raise was gonna allow them to get buy comfortably but its just been taking away. I offered to help financially but hes too damn proud and I probably insulted him by offering.

I need help guys. One of my best buddies is being fucked by his ex and the courts and there isn't a damn thing I can think of to help.

Advice?
