Sometimes guys are pretty hostile towards other bros going for girls in their groups. These guys are probably some BB's who are orbiters. Happens to me sometimes.

If its outright hostile(fight threats), I usually ignore them. They then precede to repeat themselves make themselves look foolish. After a minute or so I say to the girl to come say hi later when her boyfriend cools off. This just makes her annoyed with him, and makes him look obsessed/over protective. (This works for me though, as a I'm a bigger guy who lifts, prior military, and I work a pretty labor intensive job on oil rigs. I keep my cool, but can easily defend myself if necessary). Your mileage may vary.

If the guys seem cool, but they're just looking after their friend, order a round of shots for everyone. This usually disarms bros pretty quick, and will make them like you.

As far as using replies from the sidebar, I would only do agree & amplify. Anything else will probably cause unnecessary friction. Guys that are being relentless again are probably BB orbiters, who want you out the picture. A&A, and they'll make themselves look foolish. Keep it light hearted. Other cool bros will probably slack off if you show your a cool guy. Just keep your cool, and be humorous.

Yes. The Shit Test Encyclopedia has a section about that, I'm pretty sure. When guys do it to each other, it's referred to as "busting your balls" or something along those lines. It serves the same purpose of socially "testing" people out to see how they respond.

Men have their own hierarchy within the male ranks.

They shit test each other by being mean and lippy, saying hilarious shit when they get a chance. Its part of "male bonding" to call your buddy an asshat.

I remember once I was hanging out with some bouncers and the owner of a nearby bar. The owner is kind of a pussy but likes to talk a big game. He said once "Yeah, if i went to prison, id run shit there. Probably run my own gang" to which I chuckled and said "well that makes sense. Blacks stick with the blacks, Whites with the whites, mexicans with the mexicans. Id imagine the fags stick with the other fags."

Now that i put the redpillgoogles^tm on i can see that most men out there do something like a preliminary measure about other men around. Its very subtle and usually the ones that present themselves the bigger, are the fastest to look away first once you maintain frame and keep walking like nothing happened.

Again, i see it as a subtle stare contest where the first one looking away or getting shaky loses status.

About orbiters being overprotective i see it as a girl's shit testing extension, they actually use these fellows to filter even more who gets to her and who doesnt. The Dark Knight firmly set the tingles when he defeats the white knight. Agree and amplify or just plain ignore.
