Eh, teasing seems to work better. True negging can definitely be used with push and pull on her mental state. Negging is a term I find being used in more mainstream online LA based channels. If you get called out for negging pressure flip as if they're making up words. Don't be Mystery. He'll always be known as the guy who is faking it after his fame no matter how much he makes it.

Most guys here don't even understand what a neg is. If the layman or woman says the word "neg" it's almost 100% they don't know what it means, they just think it means teasing or being a dick.

Really, it depends on how robotic you are. I mean if you're following along in a conversation and think "Ah, she just did/said something that I can neg her on" and then deliver some cringe, you get what you pay for.

Negging, imo, is just one of those things that happens as a part of good, healthy banter. It's a small ingredient in the overall recipe for building and sustaining a good rapport. It's playful teasing, push-pull, and all those things people have mentioned. The best negs are spontaneous and emergent. Case in point, a girl I work with who I flirt with back and forth all the time (but will never escalate-- don't shit where you eat. Flirting is still fun as long as it's above board) asked me if she was walking funny. Without even thinking about it, I said "You always walk funny." Got a playful slap on the shoulder, a giggled "oh stop it!" and an explanation about her straining a groin muscle during a workout.

The point is, you have to consider the total package of your personality. Even the best neg when delivered incongruently can backfire on you.
