Either drive the talk in directions you want or hang out with people who actually have something interesting to talk about. Being comfortable with silence also goes a long way.

Basically, take what he said about having your own fun. Make the list of what is funny to you.

And make another list: what do you like to talk about and why. Perhaps it's not "what" do you like to talk about, but how it is being delivered to each other in a conversation. Only you know, make 'em lists, and have fun on Ozora. I wish I could go there but hey, I'm going to polish Goa Dupa instead. Cheers

I talk to everyone to improve my game. I work on frame control, compliance testing, qualification, push/pull, cold-reading, etc.

So it's an analytical, thought-provoking process for me, even though I'm not interested in people's lives.

You don't. You either make it fun yourself, talk about what you want regardless of her interests and she will follow, or you'll spend an apathetic time together. I actually tried apathy on a couple girls and we managed to remain in silence for upwards of consecutive 15min. They didn't make any effort so I decided not to either. Still banged and all that shit. Just that there were no facades. No games. It's just like making a deal where everyone involved knows what's going on, what are the costs and the benefits for everyone, very mechanic, no sense of connection at all.

Depending on whether she's amused listening to you or not, you run the risk of becoming attached to her because you're opening up. That's what she should be doing with you instead.

Don't confuse her amusement with care for what you're actually saying. For the most part women don't really care about any of your interests, they at best will care about how the way you feel about them makes them feel.

I just love learning about other people, and getting to know them.

I talk about life and how I feel about shit (likes and dislikes, reservations about the future etc) which prompts them to open up and forges a meaningful relationship. Works on everyone.
