I sent the following initial text at 1 PM today.

Me: Hey (her name)! Had fun at the dinner last night. We should grab coffee next Thursday at X place at Y time.

Her: Hey (my name) glad you enjoyed yourself last night thanks again for coming. Unfortunately the next couple of weeks are extremely busy for me. Maybe we can catch up after the new year!"

Me: That sounds good, let me know when your schedule looks less hectic. Have a Merry Christmas.

Her: You too!

It was a soft rejection, but in the end, I at least got closure and beat the hamster out of my system.

By putting the ball in her court, I give her the chance to shamelessly ask me out in the future. Even if nothing happens I at least preserve future business relations and there shouldn't be any awkward moments.
