I won't go into too much detail about our relationship but I'll just say we were together for 6 years, but in the 6th year, we separated ways a bit and had a long term relationship. Our relationship was also decaying a lot as I had become stressed about a new business I had just started into and I started becoming more depressed and complained a lot about everything. Basically, I started acting like a whiny bitch all the time.

I found out she slept with another guy a couple months ago...but after reading TRP subs, I've come to the conclusion that my "beta" behavior patterns pushed her to feel no more attraction for me and being in a long distance relationship with a lot of males pursuing her, I can see how she gave into the temptation to cheat.

I use to have a very romantic and unreasonably unrealistic views about relationships/women/love/loyalty but I've come to realize that in this type of situation, I believe any girl I was with would have cheated on me because the problem stemmed from myself and my attitudes.

Going forward, is a relationship where a partner has cheated salvageable? Or is it tainted past the point of recovery?

My GF has expressed her desire to make try to make it work but I understand also I have to change myself back into the previous alpha version of myself (and even more). To be honest, this whole cheating thing has opened my eyes a lot and I've been taking it as a motivator to really improve myself. I've been working out for a month straight and I'm the most fit I've been in my life, I've been going out more and socializing etc. I'd still be interested in a relationship with my GF but I wonder if it'll be a waste of time for the reason that cheating is something that is not salvageable.
