I get in and get out. I have occasionally talked to people, but only rarely. Typically it’s people I know from class or if I’m waiting for a bench/court.

Some people consider the gym a social place for sure, I don’t. I’m there to work.

I nod at regulars and make the tiniest of small talks. Gym for me, is to smash high intensity for the 1hr that I am there.

If someone is talking to you, whilst you just want to work out... Tell them!

Let them know after the workout, we can go hit a protein shake and chat all we want!

I get my lift in and go do other shit I have to get done. You can be social but I just don’t have time to for it.

Honestly it’s a great place to meet like minded people. If you go often and look like you lift it’s easy to make friends.

I go to a 24/7 no personell ""powerlifting gym" thats close to about 2 or 3 regular branch commercial gyms, so its mostly dudes here.

Between sets i chitchat a bit, just socializing and getting to know some folks, talking about lifting ofcourse.

I go at the same time 5-6 days a week, and yes, I like talking to others.

It takes time though. For the first 2-3 months I didn't talk to anyone. But when you keep seeing the same people multiple times a week, it's human to be social.

I take 2-3 break in between sets, and there's enough time to talk and not waste any time.

Gym is the iron temple, lift weights and get out. I listen to music or podcasts through my headphones. I only converse with the gym boss.

Sometimes I do talk to strangers. I met some nice friends there. I think it's a healthy way to meet like-minded poeple

It depends on the vibe of the gym. I used to go to a small gym that had a few regulars and we all knew each other. Makes it easy to get a spotter or find someone to film you (so you can judge your technique of course). In bigger gyms with a lot of traffic I don't normally talk.

If I see some guys or girls I've seen a few times before, I sometimes introduce myself briefly and just say hey when I see them around. I don't really engage too much, because I understand the pain of somebody pointlessly chatting to me and I'm just trying to do my next set.

I don’t talk to random gym goers, but I do talk with some of the regulars. Usually it’s just brief small talk, but there are a couple of cool guys who I’ll sometimes partner up with on exercises. It makes the overall gym experience a little more fun and friendly.
