Me and my girl have been together around 4 months, we act as if we have known each other our whole lives, were both crazy about each other and we hit it off on pretty much D1. I have always had another friend lets call her J, who i have been in touch with since i was in high school, 25 now, we hooked up a few times but we have only ever really been friends nothing more that have had feelings for each other. We talk all the time through text, never over the phone, she lives in another city in anothr country and has a boyfriend but we still stay in touch.

Anyway my girl got pissed today because i told her i wanted a time to meet at the weekend and she told me she'd let me know closer the time, i told her i was a busy guy and needed to have a time set or else we could do it some other time when she could set an exact time. So she threw a hissy fit, i maintained frame and told her to contact me when she had calmed down and i wouldn't be tolerating her shit. While she was flipping out she sent me a text along the lines of im getting really pissed off about you texting J all the time, im sick of it........

A little while later she finally calmed down and realised she wouldnt break me and succumbed to calling me and apologising for going ape shit. I asked her to explain her feelings about the J thing but i told her that it wasn't something i would speak to her on the phone about but we could talk to her about in person, i made it very clear to her that she is my priority and we would talk about it.

My question is, If my girl doesnt want me talking to this chick anymore and i say ok am i acting beta here? or am i putting her first and letting her know that i care about her and i am here to protect her feelings?
