Here's a question I posted over in MRP under a post by moderator Ian linking to an older blog post of his. I'll copy it here just to get other pov's. This part here:

But after that men lost the power of Order in their own families. Policy decisions that used to be made by fiat were now made by consensus. And thanks to an aggressive feminism, ALL marital policy decisions were suddenly up for discussion and debate . . . and veto. If a man tried to Order, he was accused of being a chauvinist and shamed away from the power

I'm running into this. Many times when I assert family decisions unilaterally, I get the "we're supposed to be working as a team" thing. Even if my call was the obvious right one, it's still extra energy that has to expended to overcome this team mentality. Where is she getting this? Feminized media? (she watches a LOT of TV and movies)

And if I really try to be assertive? I get this: "my dad was a chauvinist and always ordered my mom around like that". But guess what? Shit got done. The thing is, my FiL didn't live in an era with a steady stream of TV/movies/music telling my MiL how women are always right. (and neither did my own parents)

TLDR question: has feminized media (telling women all sorts of shit about how they're always right) become a HUGE factor in making marriage so much harder in this era?
