I'm 5'4''... at work, I'm the smarter, most confident guy in the office, and I'm even surrounded by women who are at least 6'0''... Bottom line, it's up to you whether it's your defining trait or just one trait.

By the way, I've found that one of the advantages of being short is that, if you manage to create tingles/attraction on women taller than you, those shorter than you will go crazy ;)

You play the cards you're dealt in life. Do you lift? Do you maximize your looks? If not, get on that shit ASAP. Lifting is important, but even more so if you are short. I'm 5'8" and used to be invisible to girls at bars. Now I lift, maintain <15% BF, and wear fitted clothes that accentuate my build well. Girls are much more open to my approaches.

Fix that. Read the sidebar. Read any one of the books on game and pickup, then go out in the field and get some practice reps in.

Most importantly if you are short, you need to focus on confident posture and speech. You can add ~2" to your perceived height through proper posture.

I have a friend that is 6'6"... when we got out girls throw themselves at him... I'm 5'9". I do my opener and girls literally shun me away.

According to this site, you are in the 45.9 percentile for height for men in the USA (Mean = 5' 9.3", SD = 2.92). You friend is in the 99.586 percentile.

None of that matters. Women, when dealing in emotional situations, like meeting men, work on subjective standards based on what they see. In this case, She saw that you are taller than her, but your friend is taller than you, therefore you are short. If you friend wasn't with you and you had a shorter friend with you, you'd appear tall so long as you are taller than her. Women are shit at objective measurements and have no idea what the "average" man height is.

Your problem isn't that you are short, it's that he is taller than you and you were measured up by her. Ultimately, she's the issue, but since her judgement is what matters here, you need to either grin and bear it or wingman a friend nearer your height.

I would personally take the first option: grin and bear it. I'm 6'1" and next to him I will look short too.

you're tall enough that it's not going to be a serious issue. your lack of confidence and insecurity about your height is a much bigger problem.

protip: go for girls around your height or a little shorter (average to tall girls but not the giants), the really tiny girls are generally the ones focused on having a much taller guy.
