cleaning up after yourself is a good habit to have and will make women view you in a more positive light. rebelling against your parents over something as trivial as throwing away your trash is pointless as it is arguably the right thing to do always and is a sign of basic respect for others & your surroundings

I'm not discounting your statement here, I can't tell if your parents really are controlling narcissists.

However, you're being completely reactive in your example. Getting other people to respect you has everything to do with being pro-active and having a greater plan.

In any case, if your parents are control freaks, challenging them is the last thing you want to be doing. What you do is make excuses to spend as little time at home as possible, and talk them them as little as possible. Only give them one-two word answers

In your example, you didn't have any kind of plan, you weren't actually trying to get something you value.

You were just passive-agressively stirring shit and pouting because you didn't like your parent's attitude towards you. Probably learned that trait from your mom, I'd venture to guess.

Secondly, when someone buys you coffee, you can show a little class and pick up your trash.

You want people to respect you, act with dignity and class first. Buy your own coffee, then you can act like a lazy clueless customer if you want.

Dude don’t listen to a word they say. I have over controlling parents as well. Once I took the pill, they shit tested the fuck out of me and tried to manipulate me back into being a beta. Now that they see me living my life pursuing my mission and not giving a fuck about them, they literally bow down to me like a god. Every time I come back home to visit them they do anything and everything I say but at the same time still try to control and shit test me. The best thing you can do is let them know they can’t control you. Get physical with your dad and even your mom if needed.

Over-controlling parents are the fucking worst and I’m sorry you have to deal with that shit. Move out ASAP and cut them out if possible. Be prepared to realize all the damage they’ve done to you when you’re out in the real world. Good luck

You want to be a man but you're living under your parents roof? Learn to work with them, like I have, as in meeting on the middle, while each side benefits in a way, OR get the fuck out of their house and do what you please.

There is only one recourse for you - move out.

If you’re not old enough, maybe tone it down a bit to avoid conflict until you can.

Think for yourself but act as others.
