Study history from a biography point of view- not just "ceasar moved his troops" but here's WHY ceasar moved his troops the way he did. Have a thought, then examine the thought. Try to foresee consequences of actions before you take them. Meditate. Gain experience in a wide variety of fields that interest you. I can write more, but I'm in a rush now, so that's all for now.

Then you can see the areas that you care about where you need to apply yourself more.

Then you can create a strategy to balance your life.

When you have a choice between two things, do this:

Draw a T chart on a piece of paper. On one side, put choice A. On the other side, put choice B.

Write the pros of each choice on each side. Put a number though 1-5 next to each pro which dictates how much you care about it. 1 being meaningless, and 5 being essential.

Now write the cons of each choice on each side below the pros. Then put the numbers next to each con in the same way. Finally, subtract the pros and cons for each side, and whichever side has the highest number is the better choice.
