You are exactly right about this.

If she loved her boyfriend of 8 months she wouldn't have willingly came over to cheat on him.

That's not how it works. Women will absolutely cheat on a man they love if he's not providing sufficient attraction (ie: alpha fucks) with no intent whatsoever of leaving the relationship.

The phrase "alpha fucks beta bucks" comes from women having a dualistic mating strategy. They can love a man for two different sets of things in general. You provide one, and he provides the other.

In this situation, what he provides is more important when it comes to wanting a relationship. You actually say it yourself here:

She's around 28 so she's getting to the point where she wants to get married and have kids. She knows I don't want kids or a marriage.

You're running into something that a lot of newer guys run into at some point, which is that pure attraction is not always enough to get the girl that you want.
