How do you deal with a girl at work who's working her ass off for validation and attention in the office environment, but accepts nothing more or less than that? For 3 years now I (27) know this girl (25), she has self proclaimed daddy issues, is in a relationship with the stereotypical no job "loser" and has a psycho mother. She's really introverted and is no way riding any cock carousel in an overt way. (doesn't even have a smart phone and hardly ever checks for messages). She's a typical liberal female redditor (probably feminazi) living in europe. A 7/10 with no problem whatsoever getting men's attention considering her huge... personalities.

Now here's the problem. She does a huge effort to get my attention and validation, but expects no more or no less than just that.

First year I met her she sent me handwritten text notes with hearts on them, she mails overtly saying she's jealous when I talk to the new girl in the office, she follows me around EVERYWHERE, etc... I eventually ask her out, she flakes or doesn't respond and I end up getting mad, telling her my feelings in the most cringworthy way. (was pretty blue pill and hadn't heard about holding frame).

Skip forward to 2 years later, I start a new job assignment and by all odds in the universe, she starts her new job at the same office on the same day. We hadn't really talked for about a year so it wasn't as akward as I had feared. We both just ignored the cringy drama of the past and focused on our new job.

By now I had learned some of the red pill truths and I did more effort to bond more with male coworkers. She actually notices I'm behaving a lot more confidently now. After several months I notice she starts orbitting me again. She's starts doing efforts to get my attention in ways I have never seen before. This actually made me mad in some way. I'm actually enjoying myself with my male coworkers as she forces herself in our group. I eventually just give up and let her get her way. We go to afterwork social meetups in groups, etc... I tease her about all her efforts to get attention, she giggles and punches my arm, etc...

so all seems good. UNTIL a few weeks pass and she starts reacting in a jealous way when I flirt with other girls. She's trying to mark her territory. Idiot as I am I give her way and I start ignoring the other female coworkers. They leave me alone. (I actually liked her a lot more so whatever). I'm now hoping she will start acting normal at some point. (feels like being in an abusive relationship, without the sex). Since then she's also taking an unusual big interest in whatever TV show I watch, author I read about or event I go to. If a guy would behave this way he'd be labelled a creep. If I had a bro friend with even a quarter of the same interests I would suspect I had found my brother seperated at birth.

Then last month happened and I had enough. Let me recap: I had signed up for a 2 day science event on facebook starting on the same day. Just an hour later she signs up as well, together with her boyfriend. I wasn't going to ignore this any longer so I messaged her "cool! Which day are you guys going?". She doesn't respond but she makes it clear that she's read it by responding on other people's facebook posts. Maybe she was hoping I would respond in a jealous or angry way, who knows. I just call her a weirdo. She then likes some random fb picture with the text "my cat is feeling sad because she's giving little hints as to how she's feeling but nobody seems to be picking up" and I couldn't help but take it personal, especially since she's literally going back to a 3 days old post.

What I eventually did was to ask her out again 2 days later, to which she responded rather offended, calling it inappropriate considering my previous "confessions" (remember, I told her I had feelings for her 2 years ago). At this point I'm not even surprised anymore as it seems clear she just wants me to be nothing more but a source of entertainment and validation. (the latter which I'm not giving at all).

The thing is, if I just ignore her completely I know she will eventually just start craving the attention again. Pretending like she doesn't exist just results in her nearing a mental breakdown. I've done it before and she ended up crying a few times, calling me a heartless asshole.

This situation is unbelievable. I can't change teams at my job and looking for a new job isn't really an option either. Making things public about her behavior just won't be well received at all in current pro-female culture considering she does most of the attention seeking in covert ways. In addition, her "best friend" actually has had a "secret" crush on me for the past 2 years, making things somewhat delicate I guess.

I wish I could adopt a psychopath mentality more easily, but when you actually work together on a daily basis and when you get invited to afterwork social activities all the time, this shit becomes really hard. Not forgetting the oneitis which is actually still lingering somewhat.

Don't know what advice I'm expecting, I think I just needed to vent all this. Has anyone else had this kind of experience with women? I pretend to not care, but at times its eating me up inside. Actually confronting her with the behavior results in complete denial. The cognitive dissonance is amazing.

In b4 "go out and fuck other girls as much as possible".
