Hey guys,

so I've been reading trp on and off for about 4 months now, started lifting, read sidebard, etc. So now I was a waiter (just a sidejob while I'm on holiday from university) at a wedding last Saturday. I saw a girl smiling at me and when the opportunity came, I introduced myself and had a brief conversation with her (30seconds max) before I got called from my boss to keep working. I noticed her looking at me literally all afternoon, but if I take too many breaks I get fired, so there wasn't much I could do.

When I was on my dinner break (the wedding celebrations lasted 14 hours, can you believe that?) I had to sit in a seperate room because we weren't allowed to eat in the same room as the guests. She notices and walks over and we start talking. Now here's the thing: It was just idle talk, exchanging info on hobbys and what she wanted to do after school (she's 1 year younger than me). It was 100% small talk and I'm annoyed with myself that I couldn't escalate or even turn the conversation into a flirt at all. I was incredibly boring tbh. Granted, I was exhausted after 12 hours of work but still, I feel like I could have done more.

I got her number afterwards and asked if she was free next weekend, but she replied she didn't know yet, so I'm guessing she's gonna flake (I would, too, after that conversation).

So what are some tricks to stop that from happening? Where's the line to cross that seperates small talk from flirting? I've never had a girl that hadn't friendzoned me come up to me like that just to talk (even though saying this makes me look like a loser haha).

I appreciate you guys' input on this one.

PS: English is not my native language, as you can probably tell.
