I'll try to keep this brief.

I'm 36. I spent 7 years of my life drinking and doing nothing. Nothing at all. Not working, barely leaving the house. I was fat as shit, depressed and suicidal. I was very near death with the booze and other things.

1.5 years ago I decided to change. I completely quit drinking, found TRP, cleaned up my diet, started hitting the gym, lost 40lbs, put on a bunch of muscle and started saving money. I have completely changed who I am physically and mentally. You wouldn't believe it if I posted a before/after pic.

I have a ton of work to do still, but...

I'm having a difficult time letting go of the past. Shit gets difficult sometimes

The reasons I drank and hated my life still exist and are with me daily. Mostly my family and friends. Everyone in my life is shitty and negative.

How do you get out of this? Do you just drop everyone out of your life? What about family? How do I deal with seeing my beta alcoholic father drink himself stupid and kill himself with cigarettes? Or my BPD sister fuck up her sons life by being a shitty parent?

When I quit drinking it's like I got a new lease on life. Like I have two lives now, pre and post-booze. Two different people. How do you move on from this previous shitty life?

Forgot to mention that my dad had to move back in with me because his marriage failed. So I get to see him drink and eat microwave dinners all damn day.

Every day I try to get a little bit better with everything I do. I am more driven to succeed than I have ever been. But I still get depressed as fuck sometimes when I'm around people from my "previous life". How do I deal with this shit?
