I am a 23 years old student of engineer school.

If I do things on auto pilot, here is what is going to happen : a year from now, I graduate, get a job, buy a house. I spend the next 20 to 30 years working like a slave in order to pay off this house. At around 50 I have no debts anymore so I can buy a few things here and there (new computer, fancy car, cool holidays...) but I'm not rich enough to significantly live a happy and fullfilled life since I still have to spend most of my time working. However, it's the best case scenario. If I get married, if I have kids, if I get fired....it will be a lot worse. Plenty of things can happen. But even with the best scenario, I still have to work like a slave and not be able to do what I really want until 50 years old. By then I'm completely brainwashed and broken. I work 10 to 30 more years, then I stop working and get depressed because I've nothing else to do, I realize I've sacrificed all my dreams, that I did nothing with my life, I get sick and I die.

That's the realistic thing that is going to happen.

I don't want that. I just came to that conclusion and I've decided to seek advice from you.
