Figuring out what you want comes only from doing many things.

This whole scared to live alone sounds very " simpy" you should get used to being alone and enjoying your own company I'll admit to u it's a scary ordeal but you dont even know how nice it is until you do it.

You live alone and die alone, dont let anyone tell you otherwise and your 21 man, in my opinion a little young to start a business you still have a lot to learn.

I personally suggest doing both, take the job in NYC learn the tricks and trades of corporate life and in your free time start building your business.

If your business is picking up speed then go for it you can always quit , if it doesnt u have a job with a decent salary and u can figure out other entrepreneurial opportunities.

Your whole life will present with opportunities and u sound like an intelligent person so u wont have trouble spotting them

I’m 23 and have been living in nyc all my life. I live at home so I don’t pay rent so idk what the rent situation is looking like in nyc but you can find a cheap place to start in Brooklyn. It’s easy to get to Manhattan by train.

Regardless, do what you need to right now and enjoy your last couple months at home.

When it is time for you to go to nyc. Find a roommate so you won’t be “alone”, get a cat, work your job and stack your fucking bread.

At least try it out for a year and see what it’s like. Stay in contact with home friends and stuff as well. Don’t burn your bridges just in case you decide to go back home.

100k job tho at 21. Take it.

You can live in NYC with a 6-figure job and struggle, or you can move to a place like Tulsa with a 6-figure job and live like a king.

Then again, you can be alone living in NYC and live like a king, or be alone in Tulsa and maybe struggle to meet people. I guess this one just depends on how outgoing you are.

It's only when you do the things you're scared of that you'll grow as a person. Change will always be intimidating but soon enough you'll also adapt to it. It'll become your norm and will be faced with another change when you grow older.

In terms of starting a business. Keep it as a side hustle while working. Unless entrepreneurship is in your blood, it's better to gain some industry experience first before you decide to - change - your paths.

Move to NYC trust me. Best place to get laid on earth. But watch getting to expensive a place. You won't need a car. There's so much to do in New York. One side note though, don't judge NYC by right now. COVID hit the city hard. There's sometimes it seems like a weird movie. Moving at the end if the year is better and COVID will have hopefully waned and rent will be cheaper. Normal New York has great restaurants, bars, fun stuff to do and so many hot women.

You won't be alone.

You still have half a year left working from home. A lot can happen in half a year, there is no need to overanalyze things yet.

Do not leave your job to start a new company. That is more stupid than brave. Keep the job, start a life, learn how business works, save money, invest. You can always build your company on the side, and use your income for cashflow. Or wait and learn until you know what the fuck you are doing.

You will never know for sure what to do with your life. Take it in periods and be smart about it.

Everyone is scared of change. But the future belongs to the bold. I would move to NYC because of your age. You are old enough to not do stupid things and young enough to be allowed to make mistakes.

If NYC does not work out, hell, a you man, took the wrong turn. It shows actually that you are more independent than the rest of the crowd with a streamlined CV.

As for NYC, six-figures will get you no-where. A run-down apartment in Brooklyn with a rent over $3000 but living a good life? I was a lawyer in NYC, ludacrious income for, let's say, Vermont, MA, Florida or Georgia but for New York City dwellers I was lower middle-class. So I commuted every god damn morning from Jersey. Never again. Getting up at 5:30 hitting the train at 7 being at Pence Station at 8:30 and 9 entering the office. Getting home by 8 being home by 10. It sucked so hard I had balls of steel and asked for a 70% raise. They offered 30%, so I left. NYC is, in my humble opinion, a fun city for a nice weekend vacation but living, working and being there 24/7, no way.

Don’t live alone then. NYC has TONS of young transplants. Find people on Craigslist, call them a few times to make sure they seem cool, and have roommates. This also helps you build a social network in a city and have someone to do things with

Yes craigslist or roommate sites are a mixed bag but if you get someone’s name, find them on Facebook, and talk to them for 10 min you should be able to deduce if they are cool or not

21 years old, degree with no debt. The world is your oyster. Not sure how much you are getting in your job. 100k and 900k are both 6 figs. But if under 200k, in NYC that is middle class at best. You will still need to live below your means. Not as financially savvy as you think. However, it is a good experience. Either way, I suggest you take this opportunity for learning purposes, networking, and exposure if not anything else. Live below your means and consider investing. You can always start your company later.
