Firstly thanks for taking the time to hear me out.

So I got out of a 5 year LTR about 5 months ago. We had just moved in together same old story. I became less and less alpha like I was in my university days, I stopped working out I also moved away from all of my friends and my career was stuck in a rut. Total cluster fuck tbh.

Anyway long story short I caught her texting a guy at her work. Nothing physical happened between them but it totally woke me up from my beta slumber. I kicked her out off the flat etc. Got her to pay me money for the value of half the furniture we brought and made her buy me out of the flat. Moved back home because tbh I couldn't justify the expense of a flat on my own and I really didn't want to stay there. To many memories (apparently that doesn't phase here as she's now been living there 5 months on her own)

Anyway onto the meat of the request for advice! So when I moved out I didn't get time to change over our gas bill account. She rung up and got it shut down instead of just transferring the name of the account over to her. This meant that they wanted to settle up the remaining unpaid usage. Came to £110. Now I was a bit peeved that she did this but she assured me she was going to sort it out. I've been hard no contact for 5 months now and hadn't heard anything from British gas so assumed she kept her word. (Dumb as fuck I know)

Anyway today I get a letter to my parents house where I'm currently staying, a final warning of Bill payment before a court summons. I have no idea how they know I'm living here, I can only think she's told them but who knows. Obviously bit of a shock to me. So I've gone ahead and paid off the amount owed as I don't want my credit rating to suffer for such a petty thing. That's the sensible thing to do. But here's where I'm in two minds about my next course of action. Do I contact her for her half of the money or just swallow the loss?

I feel that it's right that she should pay her half, but I know she's up to her eyeballs in debt with the flat, I've had letters from the council etc about huge running debts luckily I informed people the date of my vacation of the property. So I doubt she's going to straight up pay me what she owes! And I know from when I was trying to get her to hand in a letter to close down a joint bank account (why did I allow myself to get talked into that one) that it took her 4 months to hand in a letter... She will also ignore my message for days then pretends she's been to bust to respond. It's petty bullshit but it infuriates me.

So should I just swallow the loss? I don't want to really but I can't be bothered with her games and I don't want to be sucked into a conversation etc with her. Please TRP hit me with some good hard truths and keep me on the straight and narrow!
