Sometimes I'm not nice about it...and sometimes it comes back to bite me.

I believe it's "my place" in society. 95% of people pretend to be super nice. I like being honest. When I tell someone what their true problem is (instead of heavily sugarcoating), or call someone out for being an asshole, I feel useful to society.

If I had to look back on my track record, I feel I'm more assertive than the gen pop, people respect my opinions more, I feel good etc. I think I have good judgement and people appreciate it.

It came back to bite me when a "club promoter" invited me out. When I took a $30 uber and arrived with my friends, he said the venue was full. I was kinda drunk and called him out by text, he got defensive and made up some BS reason. My friends said I should let it slide but it really bothered me, and I know he's a smooth talker so he gets away with that stuff a lot.

I thought this was a long standing personality trait but I'm reading a TRP book (The unchained man) and he says this isn't ideal. Haven't gotten to the exact details yet...he says it's more alpha to be unreactive and have a IDGAF attitude I think.

What do you think?
