Is there a difference between holding frame and being stoic?

Holding frame strikes me as more of a broad term. Stoicism is just one, albeit important, tool in your arsenal of holding frame.

I'm very interested in answers to this question too. I've read into stoicism a bit recently. One practice the stoics preach is responding to insults with humor, and use examples of responding to an insult by saying something like "yeah, and you don't know the half of it." That is essentially A&A.

Holding frame simply means being unreactive when other realities clash with yours.

Someone may explain more, if there is a difference.

To me, they are very intertwined. Being stoic, allows you to hold frame.
