When you genuinely love yourself, that is true love. When you start to love yoursel, you start to love life. Only after this happens will you be capable of giving and receiving love from other people. Most people spend their whole lives in a co-dependent state, relying on other people to furnish them with “love” that is actually just validation in disguise. Love yourself first and the rest will follow.

The way I see it love is simply attraction. That's why relationships fall apart when people let themselves go, the man becomes too beta etc.

There is no such thing as "true love" and there is no such thing as romantic love. Perhaps male to female, but not female to male.

There is dependency, attraction, infatuation, adoration. And there is deep deep need. But there is such thing as love (female to male).

What about women in relationships with guys who are not successful (yet). This is the case in many relationships (Mcgregor's gf). IMO this is pretty close to real love. Women will stay with a man she thinks has a pretty good chance succeeding in life and will stay with him in ups and downs. Of course this is rare but fairytale love is always portrayed as something unique anyway. Sorry for my English, I hope I made myself clear.
