Letting your girl take you out for a night is great. Let her treat you like a king. However, never forget that the responsibility to LEAD is permanent and always present. Allowing yourself to be used as a pawn to make her ex jealous is inappropriate and disrespectful. Make sure you communicate this clearly and calmly.

Try this.

“I appreciate you taking the time to plan a night out for us, however I don’t appreciate being used to make your ex jealous as I feel that is inappropriate and disrespectful. Let’s discuss what other options we could consider to have a great night.”

I disagree that this is a red flag. This sounds like typical nature for a women, and furthermore that she feels proud to be by your side.

Whatever you do, this clearly is not LTR material. I'd start looking already. A girl with this much hang up on a boy will eventually pill his pants down to give him a BJ while telling him how much "she hates him".

I'd go, have fun, get the free meal, fuck her senseless afterwards, enjoy her emotional highs, and I'd look for other girls anyway.

Remember that she loves your opportunistically, for what you can do for her.

You’re a pawn, being used to stick it in her ex’s face, attempting to make him jealous. This could be because she is being plain vindictive and spiteful towards her ex. Alternatively, she could be running dread game on him (or even on you).

If you’ve got red flags about this, reassess and maybe dread her a little bit harder. It’s the sort of thing an LTR will do when they’re a bit comfortable.

Smells like drama one way or another. A man has no time for that shit. Try this; “Hey babe, lets go to X because I really like eating/doing Z there. I cbf going to [insert wherever the ex works], never really like it there anyway. Sound good?”

If she still wants to go to her ex’s place of work maintain frame and just say “Nah, I’m good, could think of better places to go”.

You’re the man, you choose where you want to go. If you’re not happy with the destination, be a man and do what YOU want to do.

Could be a red flag because she wants to see her ex in some form or aspect. Might not be a red flag and could be a shit test instead. Treat it as a shit test, do what I said above and the truth behind the matter will show itself, then act accordingly.

If I had to sit at a bar with my LTR and her ex was working there and i went there knowing that fact.

1) I would feel dumb as shit for allowing myself to be put into a situation like that and being some kind of object to show off to her former lover and 2) I wouldn’t go there in the first place with that context.

Hate is not the opposite of love, indifference is. She’s definitely not indifferent to him. I’d tell her to go by herself and that I’m not interested in her ex or making him feel jealous or feel anything. And id wish her luck and tell her I hope her and her ex can work it out.
