It really depends on the person and the amount of fapping. I have tried NoFap before and found it very hard to maintain. On one hand (let's say my right one) I can say that it gets you more focused and energized if you do not masturbate. On the other hand (I would suggest, the same hand, all pun intended) it is relaxing. Moderation is the key element.

I suggest you do it in moderation. See how long you can go no fapping without losing your mind (Hell, life is just one big freaking experiment). The only good habit that I picked up from NoFap was not watching porn. Nowadays, I don't need pixels... I just recall fantasies with plates... (but I'd rather let them get me off and use my hands for other things...)

Fapping is normal, there is a lot of "pseudo scientific" and anecdotal information on the horrors of masturbation online. I've read a lot of it, and while a lot of it can not necessarily be disproved, it can neither be proven to be fact. This does not mean that nofap is without common sense, there is sound logic in the theories that they uphold.

In a nutshell, masturbation is not an issue. It is safe and it is normal. It is over masturbation that's is the problem. There are benefits to refraining from masturbation, and there are also benefits to wacking off every now and then. If you feel the need to jerk off then don't be afraid to.

However, don't go fapping 8 to 16 times a day, you're asking for trouble. Over indulgence is rarely a wise choice. Too much of a good thing can turn out to be a bad thing.

Normal and generally healthy.

It's a problem when you're using it to run away from emotional issues you're not dealing with (depression, anxiety, guilt, etc) or as a replacement for a social life.

A couple of months ago I submitted this post on TRP sub. It offers a solution to the masturbation debate, although this topic will never have a solution that's unanimously agreed upon. Ultimately, it's about what works best for you...you just need to be honest with yourself in regard to how fapping affects your daily life.

Masturbating is a waste of time. (Then again, so is sex!)

15 minutes you can use to do something else. Then add in the time you spend edging, if applicable, setting aside time for it, finding a location, booting the computer, waiting for pages. Etc. Multiply that by however often you do it.

That said, I always, always orgasm before a date. But when you get plates, you won't worry about masturbating anymore.

It's been discussed a lot. It always comes down to personal preferrence. Some people swear by it, others not so much. Try it and see if you gain any benefits.

Excessive masturbation is not good for you due to effects of ejaculation on your body and mind. I noticed that i am less focused and motivated after i come. If you have or want to have an active sex life, beware of the flatline when you go on hardmode. I went on hardmode for 30 days and had performance issues with two ONS right after that. I wouldn't go without sex/fapping more than two weeks, because your testosterone level doesn't raise after that.

A lot of people say it isn't bad because they want to justify watching porn daily. However, recent data suggests that daily porn use contributes to lack of motivation, erectile dysfunction and most commonly depression and anxiety. I would recommend not watching porn and leave it at that. There are so many young guys now that have ED and performance anxiety because of the porn they watched. Young men years ago didn't have these problems but now men today have high speed internet porn that is pretty much accessible anytime. I personally never ED but I tried noFap and felt great from it. I can definitely attest to the super powers you feel from it. However, you can get those same benefits from just refraining from pornography because that is the problem. I'd say give noFap a try for a week, and if you don't have the willpower to do that well you are honestly like the majority of guys addicted (including me). Keep in mind I only used to watch porn maybe once a day or once every other day.

I am currently on a 29 day streak because I want to see if I feel even better if I drag noFap out longer. I've had multiple 6,7 and 8 day streaks. The majority of those ended because I ended up getting blue balls or lack of motivation to continue. Give it a shot if it interests you. I don't really see any positives from watching porn and getting a quick 3 seconds of pleasure. If anything that makes you less motivated to go out there and get women.
