If you’ve been privileged then seek out new challenges. I mean you should be seeking challenges unafraid of adversity and failure regardless of your background. But that’s a good way to learn some lessons the hard way. Build some character.

If you’ve been through some shit then consider yourself lucky and be grateful. You have a leg up on others because of the lessons you’ve learned. I grew up without a father. I’m the only one in my group of 4 brothers (not biological) who did so, in fact the other 4 still have theirs in their lives.

“They say you become a man the day your father dies.”

As a result I have leadership qualities that none of them do, and they all look up to me for it. I learned to become independent at a young age. Sure none of them had to go through what I did, but none of them have the invaluable lessons that I learned from it either. Losing my father at a young age was the best thing that ever happened to me. Imagine saying that... but that’s how I choose to see it

Yeah. I have a close friend that I grew up with who is very privileged. I was talking to him about a permanent injury I experienced caused by a family member, and the best thing he was able to say was, "at least you don't have cancer or anything."

I've learned that every person has their role, and these guys who have never experienced real hardship and pain will never have the ability to actually relate and help those that are. Having experienced hardship and making it out the other side is a tremendous gift that can offer guidance to actually save other's lives. Save your gift for those who are worthy.

I dont respect any guy who got everything handed because they are often times huge pussies. You can't become a hard motherfucker without being through some shit.
