Although I tend to do mostly Facebook messaging (and I know the RP community seems to hate Facebook) I guess all messaging is similar. One thing I've found that is usually the surest-fire way to get a response out of a girl is asking a specific question about herself. Consider these 3 texts/messages:

  1. Hey, what's up?

  2. Hey I'm out at a bar, check out this margarita (sends pic of margarita)

  3. When you got out of nursing school, which area did you specialize in? OR? ICU? Med-surg?

(the last one is assuming the girl is a nurse) I asked the third question of a girl after trying variations of the other two, and it BY FAR got the biggest response. She practically wrote a paragraph about herself and I was able to keep the convo going for a while.

Another girl I found out is a seafood fanatic, so I asked her questions about her faves, and she just kept typing and typing. (edit for typo)

I guess the reason is that the other two questions require the girl to actually THINK of a response and improvise something. But girls love to talk about themselves most of all, so obviously a question which gets them to do that will tend to work best?
