This happens because A. You had nothing else going on so without this girl a part of your life feels missing. Next time have your own life completely separate from her.

And B. You're just thinking about the good times. Hold on to the experience not the girl. Once you're able to dissociate the two, you'll be able to move on and make more memories.

Obviously cut off all contact and make sure you have no idea what's going on in her life. The time it takes to get over someone depends on the time spent with them and how much you needed them.

Yea happened to me. Always felt I could do better and was very apathetic to the relationship until I dumped her and she moved on. Fucked with my head for a minute. It’s an issue of scarcity and feeling like you’ll never have a girl like her again and also longing for the “good times.”
