I don't think it really matters. I think it's more along how charming, attractive or social value you have.

I think you could start a conversation with "many people don't know this but Hitler's a really misunderstood person.." and still get laid.

It's more along the line of how you come across.

Pretty much anything can be pulled off with the right tone, vibe and confidence. That said, I'd just keep it basic "hey, how are you?" or something situational/observational.
