I realize this question could be answered in other subreddits but I value your opinion and feel like you would better answer it in regards for me having to "work with what I have."
What I have is a really weird work schedule. In my job I have to be gone for right at a week then home for a week. When I'm away the hotel may or may not have a gym. Usually doesn't. I'd join a gym in the town I'm working in but I might be in the town for a month or a week then on to another. (I wished all 24 hour gyms belonged to some kind of global thing...) You may have big box gym a in this town and the next you go to has big box gym b. Could be like the town I live in and have a nice gym but it's one of a kind. As for my home gym it's not much at all. I plan to spend 500 bucks this year and get some free weights and a squat rack and a bench. Laid the mat out yesterday where I work with dumbbells. I figure the machine will give me time to outgrow it while I save for the weights.
On to the question. Will me working out every day that I'm home hurt progress since there will be a 7ish day recovery in between? Currently doing it every other day while I'm at home but me resting makes me feel like I'm not maximising the time I have. The only other thing I can think of is to take the door jam pull up bar and do a back and biceps workout in the hotel room. (You know other than cardio.)
