Gentlemen, perhaps you could point me in the right direction. Imagine yourselves in the situation of having met a potential partner in an airport. You exchange e-mail addresses, and make plans to meet when she's coming to your city in about 3 months. Then, you write her an email letting her know that you look forward to taking her out for a night in town once she's here, and she answers in a positive way, always finishing the mail with a question or two in order to maintain the flow of conversation. In time, the conversation is being kept at a pace of an email a day, and she casually mentions always awaiting the next mail, and re-reading the old ones when chillin' at home.

So far, so good. It sounds promising. Now, without wanting to fall into a zone where nobody wants to be, I'd like to turn on the oven, so to speak, and escalate properly while maintaining interest on her part.

On what to do once we see each other again is obvious, I believe, but the time in between is completely new to me.

If you could offer some advice, pointers, or refer to existing literature on the topic I'd be more than thankful.

P.S.

I did an 'interest test' of my own, and restrained from writing for a couple of days to see about her reaction. It was a positive one. The hamster did its thing. Still, what I'm looking for here is how to properly escalate, slowly but steadily, knowing full well that if I leave the situation at the current level, the interest could fade.

My ideas thus far:

Deepening of the topics - we started with common topics, neutral stuff, and I slowly directed to conversation to more personal things. Not on a 'private' level, but personal, things that actually 'show' instead of 'saying' that I'm interested in her as a woman, not merely as a person in general.

Addendum: I've already fucked up one good chance I had in the past for not heeding the advice of TRP. I gave that one last girl a chance to be 'different'. It was an unconscious experiment, so to speak, to see if TRP applied to all of them, regardless of culture and background. I can assure you, gentlemen, it applies to all of them equally. I've learned from my mistakes and do not dare stray from the path built by the experience of every conscious male on this planet.

Thank you in advance.

EDIT1: Please, if you think this would be more appropriate in another related subreddit, let me know and I will delete this post and repost there.

EDIT2: I thank you all for the time taken to write your tips and advice. It is really welcome as it gives me the opportunity to look at me in a different way and see things I normally would take for granted. I know now that I have a long road of hardwork before me that I have to go through before giving issues like this one too much thought. There's a lot of growing up, learning, and digesting that I have to do before I even begin to internalize what I've been reading. It seems the path is harder than I thought. I see it as a challenge and accept it with open arms. Thank you all for your sincere, sometimes harsh, but very realistic advice.
